Alta Vista is bordered by Encanto to the North, Paradise Hills to the South, National City to the West, and Bay Terraces to the East. The Alta Vista Community Council is not currently active.
The community of Broadway Heights is bounded on the north and east by the City of Lemon Grove, on the south by Mallard Street and on the west by Federal Blvd. The population density is among the lowest in District 4, and its median income is among the highest. The Broadway Heights Community Council meets on the 4th Thursday at 1:30 pm. Visit their website for location.
Chollas View is situated in the north-central portion of Southeastern San Diego. The neighborhood derived its name from the abundance of the cholla cactus that covered the land. It is bounded by State Highway 94, on the south by the San Diego Arizona Eastern Railroad tracks, on the east by Euclid Avenue, and the west by Interstate 805. The Chollas View Community Council meets on the 4th Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Horton Elementary School at 5050 Guymon Street.
Emerald Hills is bordered by Oak Park and California State Route 94 on the north, Chollas View on the west, Encanto on the east, and Valencia Park on the south. Public schools in Emerald Hills include Johnson Elementary School. The Emerald Hills Neighborhood Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday at 6:00 pm at Johnson Elementary School at 1355 Kelton Road.
Encanto is bounded on the north by Mallard Street, on the south by Akins Avenue, on the east by the City of Lemon Grove and on the west by 60th Street. South Encanto aka O’Farrell is bounded on the north by Imperial Avenue, on the south by Skyline Drive, on the east by 69th Street and on the west by 60th Street. Lincoln Park is bounded on the north by the San Diego Trolley line, on the south by the city of National City, on the east by Euclid Avenue, and on the west by Interstate 805. The Lincoln Park Neighborhood Council is not currently active.
O'Farrell is situated in the middle of Council District 4 where Bay Terraces is on the South East side, Encanto on the North side, Emerald Hills and Valencia Park on the West side and Alta Vista on the South side. The Valencia Park-O'Farrell Neighborhood Council is not currently active.
The Community Recreation Group serves as an advisor to the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. Facilities include Encanto Recreation Center, Emerald Hills Neighborhood Park, Marie Widman Neighborhood Park, Gompers Park and Encanto Elementary Joint Use Field. Through stewardship volunteer events and our habitat restoration field crew, we are dedicated to promoting, protecting, and restoring the San Diego canyons and creeks in perpetuity.
