Our goal is to save and enhance this open space for community use as a Legacy Park for all residents of San Diego. In order to do this we must stop a development, based on the now defunct footnote 7, that can increase density by 400%. City Planning Director Heidi Vonblum said, “Transparency and inclusive public engagement are so critical in City Planning. Removal of the footnote is an important step in affirming our commitment to transparency and ensuring that future amendments to the Land Development Code are evaluated properly.”* Yet, the City of San Diego is still allowing Footnote 7 zoning to continue for this  development. The improper and disrespectful treatment of our residents and our neighborhoods continues. "In San Diego, residents living in neighborhoods of color have access to 64% less nearby park space than those living in white neighborhoods (23 points out of 100). Residents living in lower-income neighborhoods have access to 71% less nearby park space than those in higher-income neighborhoods (15 points out of 100)."** Enough is enough - we deserve the same park space as wealthier, whiter neighborhoods!
